YOUR MISSION: The main mission of this role is to champion the re-implementation of our internal Zuora Revenue System and suggest process improvements to achieve our goal of creating a streamlined close process. 

 

THE OPPORTUNITY (AKA: Why you want this role over any other out there) 

 

Zuora is looking for a skilled Revenue Operations Manager to join its Revenue Accounting team.  Your responsibilities will consist of being the main point of contact for our Zuora Revenue Implementation. These responsibilities consist of meeting with our IT and Global Services teams, organizing our test data, and remaining organized on the transition of our legacy data to the new tenant. This special project will likely be the main responsibility for this role in the first year and will change over to a Revenue Operations role once we are live on the new system. The focus will then be on streamlining our processes and ensuring that we are emulating best practices for how to use Zuora Revenue. This is a critical role in a growing and maturing group and requires an exceptional performer.  The successful candidate will be able to learn new processes quickly, adapt to ever-changing priorities, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively across the team and across multiple functions including sales operations, IT, and the billing teams, among others. This candidate will also be able to navigate large data sets and perform complex tasks as well as manage a team. The ideal candidate will also manage a highly ambitious team and mentor their career growth. This position reports directly to the Senior Revenue Manager.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE

 

  • Organizing around the Revenue team’s side of the Zuora Revenue re-implementation at Zuora
  • Supporting Quote to Revenue system implementations and maintenance
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements in the order-to-cash process.
  • Ensuring that revenue is recognized in accordance with Corporate policy under ASC 606.
  • Analyzing revenue trends and investigating/ understanding major changes/ variances
  • Participating in all aspects of external auditor work for both SOX and the Substantive Audit especially as it pertains to our new system implementation.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

 

  • 7+ years of revenue recognition US GAAP (ASC 606), preferably with a mix of public accounting and SaaS Revenue Industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
  • Experience managing a team and meeting strict deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office software, including Excel, Word, Google Apps and PowerPoint
  • Must have a team-oriented work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt in an environment where change is the norm
  • Experience using Zuora Billing and Revenue is strongly preferred
