Our growth story is only beginning and we’re looking for a Chief Diversity Officer who will champion, promote and drive our diversity and inclusion initiatives working across all of our functions globally.. Leveraging your past learnings and business orientated approach, you’ll build on our strong foundation, developing a diversity and inclusion framework that connects Zuora’s mission and business strategy for growth. You’ll scale our diversity and inclusion efforts, fostering a work environment where all ZEO voices are heard and validated; instilling a deep sense of belonging within our unique ZEO culture.

As a member of the Executive Team, reporting to CEO, Tien Tzuo, the CDO will partner with other members of the Executive Team and functional leaders, with especially close collaboration with the CHRO. You’ll bring all of the elements of who you are into your work and invite others to do the same, creating an environment of awareness, acceptance and allyship throughout our global organization. This role is pivotal to Zuora, our culture, and the authentic experience of each of our ZEOs on a daily basis.

What you’ll do & achieve:

  • Expand our initial strategic roadmap for Diversity and Inclusion into a robust plan that aligns our diversity and inclusion goals with our business outcomes based upon  Zuora’s current state and business strategy.
  • Further integrate a sense of diversity and inclusion through innovative programs and initiatives  that build awareness, allyship and capabilities across Zuora and enhance both the employee and candidate experience.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, coaching and education with our executive and senior leadership team to inform their personal leadership and organizational strategy to advance functional and key business outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team, Sr. Leaders and Hiring Managers to help build effective sourcing and selection processes as well as progressive ways to hire, develop, promote and retain a diverse workforce.
  • Provide leadership and support to evolve the Employee Resource Group (ERG) strategy to empower and strengthen our internal communities, ensuring their impact and effectiveness across the organization and culture.
  • Identify KPIs  and develop an approach to assess progress, achievement and accountability within the company and partner with the ZEO Success (HR) team to measure the impact and effectiveness of diversity and inclusion initiatives and the overall impact on culture and the ZEO experience.
  • Strategically align with outside organizations to help augment our strategy and push beyond “best practice” to innovate and create ground-breaking thought-leadership.
  • Serve as a thought leader, leveraging your strong voice to evangelize diversity and inclusion at Zuora and in the broader industry.
  • Work in coordination with Zuora’s Philanthropic efforts to amplify D&I within the organization through strategic partnerships and employee engagement efforts. 

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • 10+ years professional experience, including experience leading the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging space at high growth companies. 
  • Thrive in a fast paced driven culture with a call to get shift done. 
  • Proven track record of developing diversity and inclusion frameworks that connect to an organization’s mission and business strategy for growth and scalability.
  • Deep understanding and strong application of the concepts related to diversity and inclusion, as well as organizational structures that impact the implementation and management of effective change efforts.
  • Experience activating global teams and cross-functional partners to operationalize successful diversity and inclusion programs at scale with impact within and outside of North America.
  • Strong project/program management skills with a demonstrated effectiveness in the following: data analysis, interpersonal communication, consulting, facilitation, influencing and people leadership.
  • Ability to take calculated risks, push your learning edge, show up as a leader (even when doing so is hard), and motivate others to do the same.
